Zombie Take-Out Episode 321: D.A.R.E. To Be Stupid

Reefer Madness Scotto and Uncle John continue their moral panic trilogy by discussing a classic b-movie that is so notoriously bad that it was first mocked just a few years after it was released. This week on Zombie Take-Out, from 1936 or 1938 or 1939, Reefer Madness. Is it a better unintentional comedy than The Room? Does a place of ill repute need prostitution? Where was the public defender? What was up with the sudden, random eyes? Hahahahahahahahaha!

Zombie Take-Out Episode 320: Bosom LARPers

Mazes and Monsters Scotto and Uncle John kick off their moral panic trilogy with an early '80s tv movie about D&D and LARPing that starred a young Tom Hanks. Unfortunately, it was an early '80s tv movie. This week on Zombie Take-Out, from 1982, Mazes and Monsters. Was it more of an indictment of D&D, LARPing or bad parenting? What happened to Hat Guy's depression? What was with all of the hats? Did they really need to use that horrible song three times? A cleric with a sword?

Zombie Take-Out Episode 319: Mr. Roper's Magic

Warcraft Scotto and Uncle John discuss the feature film adaption of a video game franchise that, like many others, pits orcs against humans, but unlike it's predecessors, shows both sides of the conflict. A game that Uncle John has been playing for almost a decade, so he isn't even going to pretend to be objective about the movie. This week on Zombie Take-Out, from 2016, Warcraft. Are orcs overused in fantasy fiction? Was the Hulk based on an orc? Are the changes the movie makes to the lore an improvement? Is it the greatest video game of all time? For The Alliance!

Zombie Take-Out Episode 318: Weekend At Byron's

Gothic Scotto and Uncle John discuss a film that gives a fantastical, fictionalized account of the events that inspired two of the most iconic works of genre fiction ever written. One about a mad scientist whose creation has become an icon and whose name has become an adjective and one that took a monster from Eastern European folklore and put a twist on it that has defined said monster to this day. This week on Zombie Take-Out, from 1986, Gothic. Should the movie have had more of a plot? Was Thomas Dolby's score out of place? Was Gabriel Byrne ever young?

Zombie Take-Out Episode 317: It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad War

Kelly's Heroes Scotto and Uncle John pay tribute to the late, great Don Rickles by discussing an early '70s heist film, masquerading as a war film, that could have been a commentary on the Vietnam War. This week on Zombie Take-Out, from 1970, Kelly's War. Should it have been more dramatic or more comedic? Would it have been better with the deleted scenes? Should even more scenes have been cut from it? Should they have given Harry Dean Stanton a larger role? What kind of accent was Donald Sutherland doing? RIP, you hockey puck.
