Zombie Take-Out Episode 64: Do users dream of electric pantsuits?

Tron Scotto and Uncle John agree and disagree as they take on their first double feature of the year and thier first ever film that's still in theaters. This week on Zombie Take-Out, from 1982 and 2010 respectively, it's Tron and Tron Legacy. Has Jeff Bridges always played The Dude? Does Bruce Boxleitner age? Why did some fans want to bring Cindy Morgan back for the sequel?

Great to see Scotto and Uncle John discuss Tron and Tron Legacy. The original Tron has a special place in my heart; and Tron Legacy was an unexpected pleasure. Tron's director, Lisberger's film Slipstream might be worth discussing in a future show as it was clearly made with the best of intentions and lofty ambitions but clearly ended up as a disaster despite capturing a great Mark Hamill performance! Thanks guys for yet another great show!

I loved the original Tron. I have yet to see the remake. I'll probably wait until I can see it at home. I am so late listening to your podcasts. I didn't realize I fell so far behind. Been pretty busy lately. As always, you're very entertaining. I agree with John's opinion regarding the 1st Tron. And based on your review of the new movie. I'm so looking forward to seeing it. I love listening to your podcasts.

I enjoy your podcast tremendously but as a video vigilante who looks for injustices committed against defenseless movies, I must come to Tron's rescue. Not from Uncle John, who obviously got it, but from Scotto and Mrs. Scotto.

Not only is Tron an awesome movie, but Jeff Bridges gives an excellent performance. The dude is incapable of bad acting of any kind. The whole movie is a visual treat. Try not to judge it by today's obviously superior CGI standards and consider that this movie was pioneering computer animation.

As for Cindy Morgan's performance as Yori, I think she does a fine job. Obviously, her looks are a huge plus but she has shown she could be good in other roles, namely as Lacy Underall in Caddyshack. Sure she plays another sexy babe in it but the role did require some acting chops also.

As for Tron: Legacy, it was all eye candy and nothing much more. Very confusing.

I find Scotto and Mrs. Scotto guilty of assault against Tron. I sentence them both to multiple viewings of Battlefield Earth with no movie snacks. My decision is final.
